MOA Architecture sponsors BMW Charity Pro-Am Tournament’s new Sustainability Program

MOA Architecture is proud to partner with the BMW Charity Pro-Am Tournament presented by Synnex Corporation on their new sustainability program with the goal of sending zero waste to landfill.

“Sustainability is a core value of MOA Architecture, Inc. We work towards sustainability in all of our designs, and eliminating waste is an important part of that goal. We are proud to support BMW Charity Pro-Am in their initiative to achieve zero landfill waste this year,” said Michael Allen, CEO of MOA Architecture.

 How you can help

There are two opportunities to support the sustainability initiative before the tournament begins:

1.       Volunteer for the community cleanup day May 1, 2021, starting at 9 a.m. Volunteers will help pick up littler along S. Batesville Rd.  All volunteers will receive a t-shirt for participating.

2.       Join MOA Architecture June 5, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Roper Mountain Science Center and bring your e-waste for a drive-through recycling event!

About the Sustainability Program

During the tournament in Greenville, S.C. June 10-13, 2021, patrons will see significant changes onsite, including an increased number of waste receptacles, recyclable and biodegradable food and beverage packaging, and reusable mesh signage. In addition, Thornblade Club and The Cliffs Valley are dedicated to cutting emissions by working with local food distribution companies to source as many local food options as possible. The tournament will also work with Signatures, a corporate apparel supplier and certified women-owned business local to the Upstate, to create golf shoe bags made from repurposed garment and tournament signage material.

The sustainability program also includes the launch of a three-year plan for the BMW Charity Pro-Am to achieve Golf Environmental Organization (GEO) certification, an initiative led by the GEO Foundation, the international non-profit dedicated to helping advance sustainability in and through golf.
