1890 Research and Extension Center

This new rural Research and Extension facility has been thoughtfully designed as a multi-functional hub to serve both the educational and outreach missions of Camp Harry E. Daniels. The building’s program blends academic, community, and agricultural functions within a flexible, state-of-the-art environment.

The facility includes modern administrative offices, multi-purpose classrooms, and a fully equipped laboratory to support agricultural research and innovation. A dedicated Food Nutrition Teaching Kitchen provides a hands-on learning space for healthy cooking demonstrations, food safety training, and nutrition education. The building also houses a computer lab to expand digital access for the community, an art classroom to foster creativity, and a series of adaptable meeting and multi-purpose rooms for workshops, events, and collaboration.

More than a building, this project serves as the cornerstone for a new chapter in Camp Harry E. Daniels’ history, marking its reopening and renewed commitment to outreach. The design supports the needs of local farmers, community members, and program participants, creating a welcoming and functional space that strengthens ties between the camp, the surrounding community, and the state’s agricultural network.
