Jonas T. Kennedy Health and Wellness Complex
Claflin University, with a deep commitment to its legacy and future, envisioned a bold new addition that would enrich campus life, inspire school pride, and strengthen its connection to the surrounding community. The result is a dynamic facility that houses modern faculty offices, versatile classrooms, energizing fitness rooms, an open strength training area, an indoor walking track, and an auxiliary gym—all designed to support the academic, athletic, and wellness goals of students and faculty alike.
Strategically positioned as a new gateway to campus, the building’s architecture thoughtfully bridges past and present. Its design harmoniously integrates the timeless character of the historic Jonas T. Kennedy Facility with contemporary materials, forms, and details, creating a unified aesthetic that honors Claflin’s heritage while embracing its forward momentum.
This new addition stands as a symbol of Tiger pride—offering current students a world-class environment to learn, train, and grow, while giving alumni and the community a powerful reminder of Claflin’s enduring excellence and vision for the future.
