Claflin University envisioned enhancing the student experience on campus and the surrounding community by constructing a new building that housed new faculty offices, new classrooms, fitness rooms, an open strength training area, a walking track, and an auxiliary gym. This addition now adds a new gateway to campus with its design to combine the existing Jonas T. Kennedy Facility building architecture with the new design elements.
