Duke Energy Innovation Center
Situated within the heart of the Clemson University Advanced Materials Center, this collaborative facility between Clemson University and the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) is designed to foster innovation, research, and entrepreneurial growth. Purpose-built as an incubator for emerging companies, the building provides state-of-the-art laboratory spaces tailored to support small businesses advancing materials science and related technologies.
The design strategically organizes the facility into two distinct wings—one dedicated to Clemson University’s research initiatives and the other to SCRA’s industry-driven ventures—while uniting both through shared common spaces. These include modern conference rooms equipped for collaboration, welcoming public restrooms, a functional delivery dock for seamless operations, and a bright, open lobby that serves as a central hub for networking and exchange of ideas.
This new addition not only strengthens the bond between academia and industry but also reinforces the Advanced Materials Center as a leading destination for innovation, discovery, and economic development in South Carolina.
