The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) is the largest union of maritime workers in North America, representing upwards of 65,000 longshoremen on the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts, Great Lakes, major U.S. rivers, Puerto Rico, Eastern Canada, and the Bahamas. MOA Architecture is working with ILA’s Local 1422-A to provide full architecture, engineering and construction administration services for their new headquarters and training facility in Charleston, South Carolina.
The MOA design includes office space in addition to loading docks and training space. The 20,590 square-foot facility is being designed by Project Architect and CEO Michael Allen.
